Targum zu Dewarim 2:16

וַיְהִ֨י כַאֲשֶׁר־תַּ֜מּוּ כָּל־אַנְשֵׁ֧י הַמִּלְחָמָ֛ה לָמ֖וּת מִקֶּ֥רֶב הָעָֽם׃ (ס)

So geschah es, als alle Kriegsmänner unter den Menschen verzehrt und tot waren.

And when all the men of war, the makers of the high places, were consumed by dying out of the host,
