Targum zu Schemot 18:3

וְאֵ֖ת שְׁנֵ֣י בָנֶ֑יהָ אֲשֶׁ֨ר שֵׁ֤ם הָֽאֶחָד֙ גֵּֽרְשֹׁ֔ם כִּ֣י אָמַ֔ר גֵּ֣ר הָיִ֔יתִי בְּאֶ֖רֶץ נָכְרִיָּֽה׃

Und ihre beiden Söhne; deren einer hieß Gersom, denn [Mose] hatte [bei der Namensnennung] gesprochen: Ein Fremdling war ich im fremden Lande;

and his two sons, the name of the one of whom was Gershom, Because He had said, I am a dweller in a strange land which is not mine;
