וְהֻסַּ֤ג אָחוֹר֙ מִשְׁפָּ֔ט וּצְדָקָ֖ה מֵרָח֣וֹק תַּעֲמֹ֑ד כִּֽי־כָשְׁלָ֤ה בָֽרְחוֹב֙ אֱמֶ֔ת וּנְכֹחָ֖ה לֹא־תוּכַ֥ל לָבֽוֹא׃
Zurückgedrängt wurde das Recht und die Gerechtigkeit blieb fern; denn es strauchelte auf der Straße die Wahrheit, und die Rechtschaffenheit fand keinen Eingang.
Targum Jonathan on Isaiah
And justice is turned away backward, and righteousness standeth afar off: for they that follow truth stumble in the street; and they that follow faithfulness cannot shew themselves.
