הֵ֣ן לְרִ֤יב וּמַצָּה֙ תָּצ֔וּמוּ וּלְהַכּ֖וֹת בְּאֶגְרֹ֣ף רֶ֑שַׁע לֹא־תָצ֣וּמוּ כַיּ֔וֹם לְהַשְׁמִ֥יעַ בַּמָּר֖וֹם קוֹלְכֶֽם׃
Zu Hader und Streit fastet ihr, und zu schlagen mit Frevlerfaust. Ihr sollt nicht an solchem Tage fasten, dass nur gehört werde in der Höhe eure Stimme [bloß laut zu beten].
Targum Jonathan on Isaiah
Behold, ye fast for provocation and strife, and to smite with the fist of wickedness; ye shall not fast a fast as if to make your voice to be heard on high.
