וַֽיַּחֲרִ֔ישׁוּ וְלֹֽא־עָנ֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ דָּבָ֑ר כִּֽי־מִצְוַ֨ת הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ הִ֛יא לֵאמֹ֖ר לֹ֥א תַעֲנֻֽהוּ׃
Sie schwiegen und erwiderten kein Wort, denn ein Gebot des Königs war also: Ihr sollt ihm nichts erwidern.
Targum Jonathan on Isaiah
But they held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him not.
