Targum zu Bamidbar 22:33
וַתִּרְאַ֙נִי֙ הָֽאָת֔וֹן וַתֵּ֣ט לְפָנַ֔י זֶ֖ה שָׁלֹ֣שׁ רְגָלִ֑ים אוּלַי֙ נָטְתָ֣ה מִפָּנַ֔י כִּ֥י עַתָּ֛ה גַּם־אֹתְכָ֥ה הָרַ֖גְתִּי וְאוֹתָ֥הּ הֶחֱיֵֽיתִי׃
Da sah mich die Eselin und wich mir diese drei mal aus; wäre sie mir nicht ausgewichen, hätte ich dich auf der Stelle erschlagen, aber sie leben lassen.
Targum Jonathan on Numbers
But the ass discerned me, and turned away from me these three times: had she not turned from me, surely now I should have slain thee, and spared her alive.
