וַיַּעֲמֹ֥ד בֵּֽין־הַמֵּתִ֖ים וּבֵ֣ין הַֽחַיִּ֑ים וַתֵּעָצַ֖ר הַמַּגֵּפָֽה׃
Er stand zwischen den Toten und Lebenden, und dem Sterben wurde Einhalt getan.
Targum Jonathan on Numbers
And Aharon stood in the midst, between the dead and the living with the censer, and interceded in prayer; and the plague was restrained.
