סֹֽחֲרִים֙ בָּ֣עַמִּ֔ים שָׁרְק֖וּ עָלָ֑יִךְ בַּלָּה֣וֹת הָיִ֔ית וְאֵינֵ֖ךְ עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ (ס)

The merchants among the peoples hiss at thee; Thou art become a terror, And never shalt be any more.’

Rashi on Ezekiel

hissed [Heb. שָּׁרְקוּ,] sibler in old French, to whistle. So do people whistle about a thing that has disappeared.
