Commentary for Ezekiel 42:5

וְהַלְּשָׁכ֥וֹת הָעֶלְיוֹנֹ֖ת קְצֻר֑וֹת כִּֽי־יוֹכְל֨וּ אַתִּיקִ֜ים מֵהֵ֗נָה מֵֽהַתַּחְתֹּנ֛וֹת וּמֵהַתִּֽכֹנ֖וֹת בִּנְיָֽן׃

Now the upper chambers were shorter; for the galleries took away from these, more than from the lower and the middlemost, in the building.

And the uppermost chambers, etc. For they were three-storied, etc. I do not understand them at all.

because the pillars consumed [Heb. יוֹכְלוּ,] like יאֹכְלוּ, consumed. Consuming and decreasing the space of the chambers.
