יַחְפֹּ֣ץ זְנָב֣וֹ כְמוֹ־אָ֑רֶז גִּידֵ֖י פחדו [פַחֲדָ֣יו] יְשֹׂרָֽגוּ׃
He straineth his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are knit together.

hardens Heb. יחפץ like יַחְפּוֹז, hardens. Similarly, in the language of the Sages: דַחַפִּיזָא כִּי אוּפְתָּא (Hullin 47b), hard as wood.
