כִּ֤י גַם־אַיֶּ֙לֶת֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה יָלְדָ֖ה וְעָז֑וֹב כִּ֥י לֹֽא־הָיָ֖ה דֶּֽשֶׁא׃
Yea, the hind also in the field calveth, and forsaketh her young, Because there is no grass,
Rashi on Jeremiah
has borne and abandoned her offspring, to hunt for pastureland for herself.
