Commentary for Job 5:6

כִּ֤י ׀ לֹא־יֵצֵ֣א מֵעָפָ֣ר אָ֑וֶן וּ֝מֵאֲדָמָ֗ה לֹא־יִצְמַ֥ח עָמָֽל׃

For affliction cometh not forth from the dust, Neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;

For not from the dust does ruin emerge A plague that comes upon a person is not for nothing, nor does it spring from the ground.
