Numbers 10:29 Second Temple Literature: On Drunkenness

And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law: ‘We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said: I will give it you; come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.’

On Drunkenness

[39] We have “removed,” he says in effect, and excised from the mind its empty vanity and are passing over to the place of knowledge, which is ours through the oracles and promises of God. “Come with us and we will do thee good” (Num. 10:29). For you will lose the most harmful of evils, mere seeming, and gain the most profitable of blessings, truth.
