Tze'enah Ure'enah

“All the nations will account you happy” [3:12]. All the nations will praise you, instead of being shamed among the nations. The [Midrash] Yelamdenu writes: when someone praises his friend or his lover, this is nothing novel. However, when someone praises his enemy, this is a novelty and an honor to the person who is praised by his enemy.4Yalkut Shimoni, Malachi, Remez, 590.
