וַיִּשָּׂ֨א דָוִ֜יד אֶת־עֵינָ֗יו וַיַּ֞רְא אֶת־מַלְאַ֤ךְ יְהוָה֙ עֹמֵ֗ד בֵּ֤ין הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ וּבֵ֣ין הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְחַרְבּ֤וֹ שְׁלוּפָה֙ בְּיָד֔וֹ נְטוּיָ֖ה עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וַיִּפֹּ֨ל דָּוִ֧יד וְהַזְּקֵנִ֛ים מְכֻסִּ֥ים בַּשַּׂקִּ֖ים עַל־פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃
Y alzando David sus ojos, vió al ángel de SEÑOR, que estaba entre el cielo y la tierra, teniendo un espada desnuda en su mano, extendida contra Jerusalem. Entonces David y los ancianos se postraron sobre sus rostros, cubiertos de sacos.

Dovid said to Adonoy when he saw the angel striking the people, and he said, "I have sinned, and I have acted perversely [but] this flock, what did it do? Your hand should [strike] me and my father's house."
