וְרַבִּ֡ים מֵהַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּם֩ וְרָאשֵׁ֨י הָאָב֜וֹת הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר רָא֜וּ אֶת־הַבַּ֤יִת הָֽרִאשׁוֹן֙ בְּיָסְד֔וֹ זֶ֤ה הַבַּ֙יִת֙ בְּעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם בֹּכִ֖ים בְּק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל וְרַבִּ֛ים בִּתְרוּעָ֥ה בְשִׂמְחָ֖ה לְהָרִ֥ים קֽוֹל׃
Mais beaucoup de prêtres, de Lévites et de chefs de famille, avancés en âge, qui avaient encore vu l’ancien temple, lorsqu’ils furent témoins de la fondation de ce [nouveau] temple, pleurèrent hautement, tandis que beaucoup d’autres faisaient retentir des cris de triomphe et de joie.
