כַּעֲנָבִ֣ים בַּמִּדְבָּ֗ר מָצָ֙אתִי֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כְּבִכּוּרָ֤ה בִתְאֵנָה֙ בְּרֵ֣אשִׁיתָ֔הּ רָאִ֖יתִי אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם הֵ֜מָּה בָּ֣אוּ בַֽעַל־פְּע֗וֹר וַיִּנָּֽזְרוּ֙ לַבֹּ֔שֶׁת וַיִּהְי֥וּ שִׁקּוּצִ֖ים כְּאָהֳבָֽם׃

J’avais trouvé Israël [délicieux] comme du raisin dans le désert; comme les premiers fruits mûrs sur le figuier, j’avais considéré vos ancêtres; eux [cependant] sont venus à Baal-Peor, ils se sont consacrés à cette honte et rendus abominables comme l’objet de leur amour.
