הָרִֽאשֹׁנוֹת֙ מֵאָ֣ז הִגַּ֔דְתִּי וּמִפִּ֥י יָצְא֖וּ וְאַשְׁמִיעֵ֑ם פִּתְאֹ֥ם עָשִׂ֖יתִי וַתָּבֹֽאנָה׃

Les choses passées, je les ai annoncées longtemps d’avance. Une fois énoncées par ma bouche et prédites par moi, soudain je les ai réalisées et elles se sont accomplies,

I have declared, etc. God will say to the unbelievers, Have I not often foretold you coming events before they happened (ראשנות)?1Comp. I. E. on 46:9 and note 6, and on 41:27 and note 35. The past tense is therefore used : and they came to pass.
