כְּצִפֳּרִ֣ים עָפ֔וֹת כֵּ֗ן יָגֵ֛ן יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת עַל־יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם גָּנ֥וֹן וְהִצִּ֖יל פָּסֹ֥חַ וְהִמְלִֽיט׃
Comme des oiseaux qui voltigent [sur leur couvée], ainsi l’Éternel couvrira de sa protection Jérusalem, qu’il ne cessera d’abriter et de défendre, d’épargner et de sauver.

כצפרים As birds. This noun is feminine, although it has the plural termination ־ִים (comp. פילגשים concubines, signifying exclusively a female being, and still with the masculine termination); it is therefore followed by the feminine form עפות flying.
