כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת חֹ֠מוֹת בָּבֶ֤ל הָֽרְחָבָה֙ עַרְעֵ֣ר תִּתְעַרְעָ֔ר וּשְׁעָרֶ֥יהָ הַגְּבֹהִ֖ים בָּאֵ֣שׁ יִצַּ֑תּוּ וְיִֽגְע֨וּ עַמִּ֧ים בְּדֵי־רִ֛יק וּלְאֻמִּ֥ים בְּדֵי־אֵ֖שׁ וְיָעֵֽפוּ׃ (ס)
Ainsi parle l’Éternel-Cebaot: "Les murs de la grande Babel s’écrouleront de fond en comble, ses portes, si hautes, deviendront la proie des flammes. Voilà comme les peuples travaillent pour le néant et les nations s’exténuent au profit du feu!"
