Les Lamentations 1:5 Commentaire : Tze'enah Ure'enah, Rashi & Ibn Ezra

Tze'enah Ure'enah

“Her enemies have become the masters” [1:5]. Her enemies have become the masters. That is to say, Israel cried woe over those who became masters and her enemy’s sit in peace. The Holy One has made Israel sad because of her many sins. Her children go into captivity before the enemy.

Rashi

Are at ease. Sit peacefully.25Alternatively, ‘her enemies hunted her down.’ (Yein Horekach); or ‘her enemies made peace with each other.’ Although they were fighting among themselves, they made peace and united against the Bnei Yisroel. See Rashi in Bamidbar 22:3 regarding Midyan and Mo’av. (Lechem Dimah)

Ibn Ezra

"Hayu tzareha" (היו צריה) - Each one was in distress, individually, and likewise, we have "Banot tze'adah alai shor" (בנות צעדה עלי שור) - Each one of them walked over me, individually.

Rashi

Has brought her grief. Caused her to moan; it is an expression of sighing
