וָאֵצְאָ֨ה בְשַֽׁעַר־הַגַּ֜יא לַ֗יְלָה וְאֶל־פְּנֵי֙ עֵ֣ין הַתַּנִּ֔ין וְאֶל־שַׁ֖עַר הָאַשְׁפֹּ֑ת וָאֱהִ֨י שֹׂבֵ֜ר בְּחוֹמֹ֤ת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ אֲשֶׁר־המפרוצים [הֵ֣ם ׀] [פְּרוּצִ֔ים] וּשְׁעָרֶ֖יהָ אֻכְּל֥וּ בָאֵֽשׁ׃
Je sortis pendant la nuit par la porte de la vallée et [me dirigeai] vers la fontaine du dragon et la porte des ordures, et j’inspectai les murs de Jérusalem, qui étaient en ruines, et ses portes, qui étaient consumées par le feu.

ואהי שובר And I surveyed - From "He will think (ויסבר) of changing" (Daniel 7:25). And from the language of the Sages of Blessed Memory: speculation (סברא). And the meaning is I was thinking about and studying the walls.
