הִכּ֥וּנִי בַל־חָלִיתִי֮ הֲלָמ֗וּנִי בַּל־יָ֫דָ֥עְתִּי מָתַ֥י אָקִ֑יץ א֝וֹסִ֗יף אֲבַקְשֶׁ֥נּוּ עֽוֹד׃
" On m’a frappé diras-tu, et je n’ai pas eu de mal; on m’a roué de coups, et je ne l’ai pas senti. Quand donc me réveillerai-je? Je recommencerai, j’en demanderai encore!"
Rashi on Proverbs
“They struck me but I did not become ill, etc.” When he sobers himself up from his wine, he does not feel any of the evils that passed over him, and he drinks again.
