Non, toi, tu n’as rien à craindre, mon serviteur Jacob, dit l’Éternel, car je serai avec toi. Dussé-je détruire de fond en comble tous les peuples, parmi lesquels je t’aurai relégué, que toi, je ne te détruirais pas. Je te frapperai avec mesure, mais n’aurai garde de consommer ta ruine. "

Rabbi Yosi then quoted the verse, "But fear not, O My servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, Yisrael" (Jer. 46:27). This verse has already been explained. Nevertheless, after Jacob had received his father's blessings, he searched himself and said, I want these very blessings to be postponed for the time, so they will last. He was frightened. A voice resounded, saying "Fear not, O Jacob My servant, says Hashem, for I am with you" (Ibid. 28), and I will never leave you, for, "behold, I will save you from afar" (Ibid. 27) at the time for which the blessings were reserved.
