Commentaire de citation sur Isaïe 66:15

Oui! Voici que l’Éternel apparaît dans les flammes, avec ses chars pareils à la tempête, pour exercer sa colère par le feu et son indignation par un vaste embrasement.

The Yalkut quotes the Talmud in [tractate] Sanhedrin.6B. Sanhedrin, 39a. A gentile asked Rabbi Abin. Your God is a priest who asked that the terumah be taken, like a priest, and we find that the Holy One Himself buried Moses Our Teacher. With what did the Holy One immerse Himself when He buried Moses Our Teacher? All the waters are insufficient for Him to immerse Himself in them. Rabbi Abin responded that the Holy One immersed Himself with fire, as the verse says, “the Lord is coming with fire” [Isaiah, 66:15].7Yalkut Shimoni, Terumah, Remez, 363.

Tze'enah Ure'enah

The Talmud writes in [tractate] Sanhedrin. A heretic once came to Rabbi Abahu and said to him. Your God is a priest, as the verse says, “bring Me gifts [terumah]” [Exodus, 25:2] and the Holy One buried Moses when he died. When someone buries a corpse, he is ritually impure and must immerse himself. How did the Holy One immerse himself, since all the bodies of water are too small for Him to immerse Himself, as the verse says, “who measured the waters with the hollow of his hand” [40:12]. Who measured the waters in the whole world with one hand like the Holy One measured it? Rabbi Abahu responded: He immersed Himself in fire, as the verse says, “the Lord is coming with fire” [Isaiah, 66:15]. “All the nations are as naught in His sight” [40:17].24B.
