וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֣י לֵאמֹ֑ר רָאִ֙יתִי֙ אֶת־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה וְהִנֵּ֥ה עַם־קְשֵׁה־עֹ֖רֶף הֽוּא׃
Puis, l’Éternel me parla ainsi: "J’ai observé ce peuple: or, c’est un peuple rétif.

And the Lord spake to me saying, the sin of this people is revealed before Me, and behold this people is hard-necked:
