וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע רְאוּבֵ֔ן וַיַּצִּלֵ֖הוּ מִיָּדָ֑ם וַיֹּ֕אמֶר לֹ֥א נַכֶּ֖נּוּ נָֽפֶשׁ׃
Ruben l’entendit et voulut le sauver de leurs mains; il se dit: "N’attentons point à sa vie."
Targum Jonathan on Genesis
And Reuben heard, and delivered him from their hands, and said, We will not kill him nor become guilty of his blood.
