מֵתִים֙ בַּל־יִחְי֔וּ רְפָאִ֖ים בַּל־יָקֻ֑מוּ לָכֵ֤ן פָּקַ֙דְתָּ֙ וַתַּשְׁמִידֵ֔ם וַתְּאַבֵּ֥ד כָּל־זֵ֖כֶר לָֽמוֹ׃
Les morts ne revivent point, les ombres ne se relèvent pas; voilà pourquoi tu as sévi contre eux, tu les as détruits et effacé d’eux tout souvenir.
Targum Jonathan on Isaiah
They worship idols, who do not live, their heroes, who shall not rise; therefore, when thou “shalt visit their sins, thou wilt make an end of them, and make all memorial of them to perish.
