Targoum sur Isaïe 49:15

Targum Jonathan on Isaiah

Is it possible that a mothers can forget her child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? The congregation of Israel answered and said: If there is no forgetfulness with Him, perhaps He will not forget that I have made a calf of gold? The prophet said to her, Yea, these things shall be forgotten. And she said to him, If there is forgetfulness with Him, perhaps it will be forgotten that I said on Sinai: We will do and obey? He answered and said to her: My Word shall not cast you off.
