the covering The covering that covers all the people. Heb. הלוט, similar to “he wrapped his face” (I Kings 19:13), and to “behold, it is wrapped in a garment” (I Samuel 21:10).

ובלע And he shall discover.⁹A. V., And he will destroy. Comp. כבלע when are discovered¹⁰A. V., When are covered. I. E., in his commentary ad locum mentions both explanations, when are covered and when are discovered, and gives the preference to the former. (Num. 4:20).

and the kingdom (Heb. וְהַמַּסֵּכָה.) An expression of kingdom and ruling.

הלוט The covering. Comp. וילט and he wrapped (1 Kgs. 19:13); it is the same as the corresponding מכסה ═ מסכה covering; comp. והמסכה and the covering (28:20)
