To whom then, etc. They are without knowledge, but God is omniscient (Jos. 22:22).⁴³If the words of the Hebrew text יודע אל הס בלא ה״א הדעת כמו אל׳ הוא contained a grammatical remark that האל=אל God, or = אלה these, either the word הם or הדעת were superfluous, and the reference to Jos. 22:22 unnecessary. The following emendation has therefore been suggested for the translation: אל הם בלא דעת ואל הוא יודע.
