He rotted my flesh. As in, “to rotten לְבוּל wood.”²Yeshayahuu 44:19. Another explanation: ‘He has made my flesh and skin waste away,’ as in, “And the earth will wear away תִּבְלֶה like a garment,”³Ibid., 51:6. i.e., both young and old lay outdoors on the ground with neither pillow nor cushion, and their flesh wore out, when they were going into exile.
