Likutei Halakhot
This is the aspect of that which they say: There is Solomon’s couch, sixty warriors, etc. (Song of Songs 3:7). And we likewise then say the priestly blessing. For when we receive the light from Above, it is undifferentiated light, and it takes shape for each one according to his aspect, etc., as mentioned earlier. Hence, we say the priestly blessing in order to shape the light in the aspect of blessing. For the light that comes from Above is [in] an aspect of closed and sealed, the aspect of "and the priest closed" (see Leviticus 2:2). Hence, the priests have the power to give shape to that light, which is the aspect of "and the priest closed," to shape it into the aspect of blessing. And they are therefore commanded to bless the Jewish people with the priestly blessing, as it is all explained in the Laws of the Raising of the Palms [the Priestly Blessing], see there. And this is the aspect of the priestly blessing that we say before sleep in order to shape the light in the aspect of blessing, and as mentioned above.
