Rashi

Belteshazzar He named him after the god of Babylon, which was called Bel, as it is said (4: 5): “whose name is Belteshazzar, like the name of my god.” Teshazzar is the Aramaic expression denoting wisdom.

Ibn Ezra

[Daniel 1:7] Vayasem (וַיָּשֶׂם - And [the chief officer] set/gave): Just as Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-paneah [Genesis 41:45]. And Rav Saadia [Gaon] said: that Bel [in Belteshazzar] is a Chaldean name/word, and likewise -Tzar [as in Belteshazzar, Nebuchadnezzar]. And similarly [names like] Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, Sheshbazzar [contain these elements]. And the name Bel is explicitly [linked by Nebuchadnezzar himself when he says about Daniel/Belteshazzar] “according to the name of my god” [Daniel 4:5]. And [Saadia also states that] Shadrach [and] Meshach are Chaldean language [names]. And the Gaon [Saadia] said that Nego [in Abed-nego] is like Nebo [the name of a Babylonian deity], but [this is asserted] without proof.
