וַאֲשֶׁר֩ הָיָ֨ה נַעֲשֶׂ֜ה לְי֣וֹם אֶחָ֗ד שׁ֣וֹר אֶחָ֞ד צֹ֠אן שֵׁשׁ־בְּרֻר֤וֹת וְצִפֳּרִים֙ נַֽעֲשׂוּ־לִ֔י וּבֵ֨ין עֲשֶׂ֧רֶת יָמִ֛ים בְּכָל־יַ֖יִן לְהַרְבֵּ֑ה וְעִם־זֶ֗ה לֶ֤חֶם הַפֶּחָה֙ לֹ֣א בִקַּ֔שְׁתִּי כִּֽי־כָֽבְדָ֥ה הָעֲבֹדָ֖ה עַל־הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּֽה׃
Setiap hari disiapkan bagiku seekor lembu, enam ekor domba pilihan, dan unggas-unggas, serta segala jenis anggur dalam jumlah berlimpah, sebanyak persediaan untuk sepuluh hari. Meskipun demikian, aku tidak menuntut jatah makanan bupati, karena pekerjaan itu sudah sangat membebani rakyat ini.
