וְהָיָה֩ בֵית־יַעֲקֹ֨ב אֵ֜שׁ וּבֵ֧ית יוֹסֵ֣ף לֶהָבָ֗ה וּבֵ֤ית עֵשָׂו֙ לְקַ֔שׁ וְדָלְק֥וּ בָהֶ֖ם וַאֲכָל֑וּם וְלֹֽא־יִֽהְיֶ֤ה שָׂרִיד֙ לְבֵ֣ית עֵשָׂ֔ו כִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה דִּבֵּֽר׃
Kaum keturunan Yakub akan menjadi api, kaum keturunan Yusuf menjadi nyala api, dan kaum keturunan Esau menjadi jerami. Mereka akan menyala membakar mereka dan melalap habis mereka, sehingga tidak akan ada seorang pun yang tersisa dari kaum keturunan Esau, sebab Yang Mahakekal telah berfirman.

Tze'enah Ure'enah
“The House of Jacob will be a fire and the House of Joseph a flame, etc.” [1:18]. Like the fire burns the straw, so will Jacob burn the nations. Therefore he says, a flame will come out of the house of Jacob and from the house of Joseph a fiery flame will come, when Joseph will overcome Esau.
Tze'enah Ure'enah
“There will be no survivor of the House of Esau, since the Lord has spoken” [1:18]. No person from Esau will remain; when the Holy One says it, it will certainly happen.
