לְמַ֡עַן אֲשֶׁר֩ לֹא־יִגְבְּה֨וּ בְקוֹמָתָ֜ם כָּל־עֲצֵי־מַ֗יִם וְלֹֽא־יִתְּנ֤וּ אֶת־צַמַּרְתָּם֙ אֶל־בֵּ֣ין עֲבֹתִ֔ים וְלֹֽא־יַעַמְד֧וּ אֵלֵיהֶ֛ם בְּגָבְהָ֖ם כָּל־שֹׁ֣תֵי מָ֑יִם כִּֽי־כֻלָּם֩ נִתְּנ֨וּ לַמָּ֜וֶת אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ תַּחְתִּ֗ית בְּת֛וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י אָדָ֖ם אֶל־י֥וֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃ (ס)

Hal itu terjadi supaya semua pohon di tepi air tidak lagi meninggikan perawakannya dan tidak menempatkan puncaknya di antara pepohonan yang rimbun, dan supaya yang perkasa di antara mereka, yaitu semua pohon yang meminum air, tidak lagi berdiri tegak dengan congkak karena ketinggiannya; sebab mereka semua telah diserahkan kepada maut, ke bagian bumi yang paling bawah, di tengah-tengah anak-anak manusia, bersama orang-orang yang turun ke liang kubur.
