כִּֽי־נִחַ֨ם יְהוָ֜ה צִיּ֗וֹן נִחַם֙ כָּל־חָרְבֹתֶ֔יהָ וַיָּ֤שֶׂם מִדְבָּרָהּ֙ כְּעֵ֔דֶן וְעַרְבָתָ֖הּ כְּגַן־יְהוָ֑ה שָׂשׂ֤וֹן וְשִׂמְחָה֙ יִמָּ֣צֵא בָ֔הּ תּוֹדָ֖ה וְק֥וֹל זִמְרָֽה׃ (ס)

Sebab Yang Mahakekal pasti menghibur Sion; Ia menghibur semua reruntuhannya. Ia menjadikan padang gurunnya seperti Eden dan tanahnya yang tandus seperti taman Yang Mahakekal. Kegirangan dan sukacita akan didapati di sana, ucapan syukur dan suara nyanyian.

Rashi

and its wasteland Heb. וְעַרְבָתָהּ. This too is an expression of a desert. Comp. (Jer. 2:6) “In a wasteland (עֲרָבָה) and a land of pits,” but the wasteland once had a settlement and it was destroyed.

Ibn Ezra

The Lord shall comfort Zion, etc. Thus the connection of this verse with the preceding one is explained. He hath comforted all her waste places, by the multitude of her children, of her inhabitants.
