Sekali Aku telah bersumpah demi kekudusan-Ku: Aku pasti tidak akan berdusta kepada Daud.

The connection of King David with the moon requires more explanation. It is written:56Tehillim 89:36-38. “One thing have I sworn by My holiness, that I will not fail David. His seed will endure forever and his throne is like the sun before Me. Like the moon, his line will be established forever; and they are a faithful witness in the sky, eternally true.” These verses are problematic, because they use both the sun and the moon as analogies for David’s line. First, it is written, “His throne is like the sun before Me,” and then it says, “Like the moon, his line will be established.” The sequence seems to imply a decline in the rule of David’s dynasty, for the sun is mentioned before the moon.
