צַ֚ו אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם אֶת־קָרְבָּנִ֨י לַחְמִ֜י לְאִשַּׁ֗י רֵ֚יחַ נִֽיחֹחִ֔י תִּשְׁמְר֕וּ לְהַקְרִ֥יב לִ֖י בְּמוֹעֲדֽוֹ׃
“Perintahkanlah kepada orang Israel dan katakan kepada mereka: Kurban-Ku, yaitu makanan-Ku untuk kurban-kurban api-Ku, aroma yang menyenangkan bagi-Ku, haruslah kamu jaga dengan cermat untuk mempersembahkannya kepada-Ku pada waktunya yang telah ditetapkan.

My food [bread] of My fires. Bread satisfies the heart of man and connects his soul to his body, so too, the offerings connect the dwelling place of Hashem’s honor with His people, Yisroel. Therefore, they are called bread.
