Musa, Harun, dan seluruh umat Israel melakukan demikian kepada orang-orang Lewi. Tepat seperti semua yang diperintahkan Yang Mahakekal kepada Musa mengenai orang-orang Lewi, demikianlah orang Israel melakukannya kepada mereka.

“Let Aaron designate the Levites” [8:11]. Aaron raised up all the Levites from the ground, each of the twenty-two thousand individually. Korah mocked this and said that Moses made us all to be fools. He lifted us all up like fools and had us shorn like fools. However, this mocking came from a grudge.12Bahya, Numbers, 8:20. The first part is found in Bahya. I was not able to find the source of the statement about Korah.

Bahya writes that one can see the great strength that Aaron had. He lifted up twenty-two thousand Levites from the ground in one day.16Bahya, Numbers, 8:20.
