וְעֵ֤לָּא מִנְּהוֹן֙ סָרְכִ֣ין תְּלָתָ֔א דִּ֥י דָנִיֵּ֖אל חַֽד־מִנְּה֑וֹן דִּֽי־לֶהֱוֺ֞ן אֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֗ין יָהֲבִ֤ין לְהוֹן֙ טַעְמָ֔א וּמַלְכָּ֖א לָֽא־לֶהֱוֵ֥א נָזִֽק׃
Dan di atas mereka ada tiga pejabat tinggi, salah seorang di antaranya adalah Daniel, supaya para wakil raja itu memberikan pertimbangan kepada mereka, sehingga raja tidak dirugikan.
Rashi
Because he was cut down from his greatness in the days of Ahasuerus. As behold, Belshazzar had made three govern over his kingdom (one of whom was Daniel). And likewise Darius the Mede, as it is stated (Daniel 6:3), "And over them were three ministers, of which Daniel was one." And likewise Cyrus, as it is stated (Daniel 6:29), "And Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and during the reign of Cyrus the Persian." But when Ahasuerus governed, he cut him down from his greatness.
