Kepada Sara ia berkata: “Lihatlah, aku telah memberikan seribu keping perak kepada saudara laki-lakimu. Sesungguhnya, itulah bagimu penutup mata bagi semua orang yang bersamamu, dan terhadap semua orang engkau dapat membela diri.”

Bahya writes. Abimelech said: since I have given your brother, Abraham, much money, all the people will say that I had to placate him. Thus, it was shown that Abimelech feared God and certainly did not touch Sarah. Abimelech had previously hated Abraham and now he gives Abraham much money. This must be a miracle from God.
