Bernyanyilah bagi Allah, bermazmurlah bagi nama-Nya, tinggikanlah Dia yang berkendara di langit tinggi; Yang Mahakekal adalah nama-Nya, bersukarialah di hadapan-Nya.

What seems most reasonable to me in this matter is that it is the way of the world that when someone has some superior quality over his fellow, he does not remember his fellow who is lesser in stature and will not even mention his name due to his haughtiness. This is the argument of the philosophers regarding the Holy One, blessed be He, saying that due to His great exaltedness, He does not supervise the lowly beings beneath the sphere of the moon. To refute this corrupt opinion, it is said Do not speak with excessive pride, let not arrogance come from your mouth, for God is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed (1 Samuel 2:3). This means: do not say that because the Holy One, blessed be He, is higher than all heights, He has no knowledge of the details of our actions, for God is a God of knowledge who has awareness of everything, and to Him all the deeds of man are measured. And in order to verify this matter that the Holy One, blessed be He, dwells with the crushed and lowly of spirit, He incorporated in His great name four letters that have the lowest numerical value of all the letters in the alphabet. When you write yud-heh-vav-heh in their full form, examine all the letters — you will not find any letter that adds up to such a small number as these. And so our Sages said (Megillah 11a), “Rabbi Yochanan said: Wherever you find mention of God’s greatness, there you find mention of His humility… This is proven from the Writings, as it is said Extol Him who rides upon the clouds, His name is Yah (Psalms 68:5).” This means praise Him that even though He rides upon the clouds, higher than all, nevertheless His name is “Yah” — these being the letters with the smallest numerical value, and the word consisting of only two letters, meaning the minimum combination of letters. All this is proof of His blessed humility.

Who were evaluated in golden currency. Who were praised and valued like gold. Whoever saw them would say, “Look, the complexion of these is like the appearance of gold,” and similarly, “it cannot be praised תְסֻלֶּה with the gold jewelry of Ophir,”4Iyov 28:16. [and as in,] “with jewelry of fine gold, it cannot be praised תְסֻלֶּה”5Ibid. 28:19. [and as in,] “praise סֹלּוּ Him Who rides the heavens.”6Tehilim 68:5. These are expressions of praise and value.

The explanation of יה, the half of the name of God, will be found in the Book of Psalms,3In his Commentary on Ps. 118:17, I. E. explains וזמרת, but not the meaning of יה. He intended perhaps to do it on Ps. 68:5, to which verse he refers also in his commentary on Isaiah 26:4. It is, however, explained, Ex. 3:15, and Sefer Hashem, 100:8. and of זמרת in the Pentateuch (Exod. 15:2)

It cannot be praised Heb. תסלה, an expression of (Ps. 68:5), “Extol Him (סלו) Who rides in Aravoth.” He who praises it saying, “It is as esteemed as the gold of Ophir and as precious onyx,”—this is no praise for it. Similar to this is (Lam. 4:2), “praised (המסלאים) with fine gold.”
