Sesudah peristiwa-peristiwa itu, ketika amarah Raja Ahasyweros telah reda, ia teringat akan Wasti, akan apa yang telah dilakukan Wasti, dan akan apa yang telah diputuskan atasnya.

Megillah

For man receives measure for measure [rewards and punishments]. This teaches that the wicked Vashti used to take the daughters of Israel and strip them naked and make them work on Shabbat. So it is written, “After these things when the wrath of the king Ahashverosh abated, he remembered Vashti and what she had done and what was decided against her.” As she had done so it was decreed against her.

Megillah

From where does a man read the Megillah and thereby fulfil his obligation? Rabbi Meir says: all of it. Rabbi Judah says: from “There was a Jew” (Esther 2:5). Rabbi Yose says: from “After these things” (3:1).
