לָנֻ֨ס שָׁ֜מָּה רוֹצֵ֗חַ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִרְצַ֤ח אֶת־רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ בִּבְלִי־דַ֔עַת וְה֛וּא לֹא־שֹׂנֵ֥א ל֖וֹ מִתְּמ֣וֹל שִׁלְשׁ֑וֹם וְנָ֗ס אֶל־אַחַ֛ת מִן־הֶעָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖ל וָחָֽי׃
supaya seorang pembunuh dapat melarikan diri ke sana, yaitu orang yang membunuh sesamanya tanpa sengaja dan sebelumnya tidak membenci dia, sehingga dengan melarikan diri ke salah satu kota itu ia dapat tetap hidup.
