וַיִּקְרָ֧א יַעֲקֹ֛ב שֵׁ֥ם הַמָּק֖וֹם פְּנִיאֵ֑ל כִּֽי־רָאִ֤יתִי אֱלֹהִים֙ פָּנִ֣ים אֶל־פָּנִ֔ים וַתִּנָּצֵ֖ל נַפְשִֽׁי׃
Lalu Yakub menamai tempat itu Pniel, “sebab aku telah melihat makhluk ilahi berhadapan muka, dan nyawaku tetap selamat.”
Targum Jonathan
And Jakob called the name of the place Peniel; for he said, I have seen the Angels of the Lord face to face, and my soul is saved.
