Commento su Geremia 38:2
כֹּה֮ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָה֒ הַיֹּשֵׁב֙ בָּעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את יָמ֕וּת בַּחֶ֖רֶב בָּרָעָ֣ב וּבַדָּ֑בֶר וְהַיֹּצֵ֤א אֶל־הַכַּשְׂדִּים֙ יחיה [וְחָיָ֔ה] וְהָיְתָה־לּ֥וֹ נַפְשׁ֛וֹ לְשָׁלָ֖ל וָחָֽי׃ (ס)
'Così dice l'Eterno: Colui che rimane in questa città morirà di spada, di carestia e di pestilenza; ma chi uscirà dai Caldei vivrà e la sua vita sarà per lui una preda, e vivrà.
Rashi on Jeremiah
and he shall have his life as prey His life shall be saved, as if had “plundered” his soul; just as a man profits from plundering booty, so this person will profit [by saving] his life.
