I Samuele 25:29 Kabbalah: Zohar, Sha'arei Kedusha & Sha'arei Orah

Zohar

That body, however, undergoes great punishment before the Resurrection, for, because it was not worthy to bring forth an issue, it was put into the earth in the region which adjoins Arqa.1v. Zohar, Genesis 39b, 40a. There it lies for a while, then it is removed to this world, then back again: it has no rest, except on Sabbaths, festivals, and new moons.

Sha'arei Kedusha

In Zohar it states,570Zohar II 59a “There is not a single breath that does not possess a voice and create a spirit. All the words that a person speaks which are not for the sake of serving the Holy One, blessed is He, create a spirit that carries and travels around in the world and when the soul leaves him upon death, that spirit is hurled at him in the torments of the grave, like a stone flung from a slingshot (Kaf HaKela). This is the meaning of the verse,571Samuel I 25:29 ‘may He hurl away the soul of your enemies as one shoots a stone from a slingshot (Kaf HaKela).’” It also states in Zohar,572Zohar III 183b “From the verse,573Esther 5:1 ‘And Esther donned royal garments,’ we learn that any person who guards his mouth and tongue, merits to don the garment of the spirit of holiness and Divine Inspiration (Ru’ach HaKodesh).’”574Just as Esther guarded her mouth (Esther 2:20) “and did not reveal her kindred or her people, as Mordechai had instructed her.”

Sha'arei Orah

However, if after having become repugnant, that soul returns, mends its ways and repairs its paths, she then returns to adhere to where she originally was cut off from, thus meriting to ascend to the Sefirah of Understanding-Binah, called the Coming World-Olam HaBa-עולם הבא. She then returns to the place that was lost to her. This then, is the secret of Return-Teshuvah-תשובה, as in the verse,185Samuel I 7:17 “He then would return-Teshuvato-תשובתו to Ramah,186The word Ramah-רמה also means elevated, and thus, this may be read as, “Then he returned to be elevated.” for his home was there.” Thus, since the Nefashot-נפשות are bound to the Ruchot-רוחות, and the Ruchot-רוחות are bound to the Neshamot-נשמות, and the Neshamot-נשמות are bound to the World of Life-Olam HaChayim-עולם החיים, the verse therefore states,187Samuel I 25:29 “May my lord’s soul-Nefesh Adonee-נפש אדני be bound up in the bond of Life-Tzror HaChayim-צרור החיים.”
