On the first day of Rosh Hashana [or on the second day if the first day is Shabbos], after the Mincha Services, before sunset, it is customary to go to a body of water [the ocean, river, lake, etc.] but preferably one which contains fish, and recite the following prayers. The opening verses are taken from Micah 7:18-20 and they correspond to the thirteen Divine Attributes mentioned in Shemos 34:6,7. The closing verses are from Psalms 118:5-9 which correspond to the nine attributes mentioned in Bamidbar 14:18.

Whoever sanctifies the seventh day as befits it, Whoever preserves the Sabbath properly so as not to desecrate it— his reward is very great, commensurate with his actions; each man in his camp, each man with his banner.²⁴Numbers 1:52. Lovers of Adonoy, who yearn for the building of the Temple— on the Sabbath day be happy and rejoice, as if receiving the gift of God's inheritance. Also raise your hands in holiness and say to the Almighty: “Blessed is Adonoy Who granted rest to His people Israel.”²⁵1 Kings 8:56 Seekers of Adonoy, seed of Avrohom, His beloved, who delay departing from the Sabbath and rush to welcome it; who rejoice in preserving it and to place its eiruv²⁶An eiruv is the food which must be placed before the Shabbos in order to enable one to carry from one private domain into another. Without an eiruv the Sages forbade this carrying. An eiruv is also used to enable a person to walk beyond the 2,000-cubit Shabbos boundary. “This is the day Adonoy has made let us exult and rejoice in it.”²⁷Psalms 118:24. Remember the Torah of Moses, which states the Sabbath commandment²⁸Perfect observance of the Torah’s command to keep the Shabbos is impossible without the expositions of the Talmud, commentaries, and codes.—Etz Yosef engraved for the seventh day like a bride adorned amid her friends.²⁹The commandment of the Shabbos was engraved on the two tablets God gave Moses. As the fourth of the Ten Statements, it is surrounded by its sister-mitzvos. Pure ones inherit it and sanctify it with the words, “All that He had made”³⁰Genesis 1:31. — “And God completed by the seventh day, His work that He had done.”³¹Genesis 2:2. It is a holy day, from arrival till departure; all the seed of Jacob honor it according to the King's word and decree— to rest on it and to rejoice with the pleasure of food and drink— “The entire congregation of Israel will do it.”³²Exodus 12:47. Extend Your kindness to those who know You, Almighty, jealous and vengeful. Those who keep the seventh day, “Recall” and “Preserve,”³³There are two Scriptural versions of the Ten Commandments. The commandment of the Shabbos in Exodus 20 begins with the word זָכוֹר , recall, and in Deuteronomy 5 it begins with the word שָׁמוֹר , preserve.—Etz Yosef to fulfill, grant them joy with rebuilt Jerusalem;³⁴The proper observance of the Shabbos brings the ultimate redemption and the rebuilding of Jerusalem.—Siach Yitzchak and with the light of Your countenance, make them radiant. “Let them be sated from the abundance of Your House, and from the stream of Your delights give them drink.”³⁵Psalms 36:9. Help those who abstain on the seventh day— from plowing and harvesting, [may You help them] always. Those who walk on it with short strides and feast on it [eating three meals] in order to bless [You] three times— may their righteousness shine like the light of the seven days.³⁶When God created the world, He created a brilliant light that lasted only during the seven days of creation. God preserved it for the righteous to enjoy in the World to Come.—Etz Yosef “Adonoy, God of Israel, [grant] perfect love Adonoy, God of Israel [grant] eternal deliverance.”

There is none like You, gracious and merciful Adonoy, our God; there is none like You, Almighty, slow to anger, abundant in kindliness and truth. Deliver us with Your great mercy, save us from storm and rage. Remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; do not consider our stubbornness, our wickedness and our sinfulness.²³Deuteronomy 9:27 (basis). Turn from Your fierce anger and let Your mind be changed concerning the evil [intended] for Your people.²⁴Exodus 32:12. Remove from us the scourge of death, for You are merciful; for such is Your way— to bestow undeserved kindness in every generation. Spare Your people, Adonoy, and save us from Your wrath; remove from us the scourge of plague, and harsh decree, for You are the Guardian of Israel. Righteousness is Yours, my Master, while shame is ours.²⁵Daniel 9:7. How can we complain? What can we say? What can we speak? and how can we justify ourselves? Let us search into our ways and examine them, and return to You; for Your right hand is extended to receive those who repent. We beseech You Adonoy!—deliver us. We beseech You Adonoy!—grant us success²⁶Psalms 118:25.; We beseech You Adonoy! — answer us on the day we call. For You, Adonoy, we have waited, For You, Adonoy, we have hoped, For You, Adonoy, we yearn. Do not be silent, and do not allow us to be tormented; for the nations have said, “Their hope is lost.” Let every knee and all who stand erect prostrate themselves only before You.

From the strait I have called, Lord; He answered me from the wide space, the Lord. The Lord is for me, I will not fear, what will man do to me? The Lord is for me with my helpers, and I shall glare at those that hate me. It is better to take refuge with the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge with the Lord than to trust in nobles. All the nations surrounded me - in the name of the Lord, as I will chop them off. They surrounded me, they also encircled me - in the name of the Lord, as I will chop them off. They surrounded me like bees, they were extinguished like a fire of thorns - in the name of the Lord, as I will chop them off. You have surely pushed me to fall, but the Lord helped me. My boldness and song is the Lord, and He has become my salvation. The sound of happy song and salvation is in the tents of the righteous, the right hand of the Lord acts powerfully. I will not die but rather I will live and tell over the acts of the Lord. The Lord has surely chastised me, but He has not given me over to death. Open up for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter them, thank the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord, the righteous will enter it. (Psalms 118:5-20)

I will thank You, since You answered me and You have become my salvation. The stone that was left by the builders has become the main cornerstone. From the Lord was this, it is wondrous in our eyes. This is the day of the Lord, let us exult and rejoice upon it. (Psalms 118:21-24)

Please, Lord, save us now; please, Lord, save us now; please, Lord, give us success now!; please, Lord, give us success now! (Psalms 118:25)

Blessed be the one who comes in the name of the Lord, we have blessed you from the house of the Lord. God is the Lord, and He has illuminated us; tie up the festival offering with ropes until it reaches the corners of the altar. You are my Power and I will Thank You; my God and I will exalt You. Thank the Lord, since He is good, since His kindness is forever.(Psalms 118:26-29)

May the Merciful One reign over us forever and always. May the Merciful One be blessed in the heavens and in the earth. May the Merciful One be praised for all generations, and exalted among us forever and ever, and glorified among us always and infinitely for all infinities. May the Merciful One sustain us honorably. May the Merciful One break our yolk from upon our necks and bring us upright to our land. May the Merciful One send us multiple blessing, to this home and upon this table upon which we have eaten. May the Merciful One send us Eliyahu the prophet - may he be remembered for good - and he shall announce to us tidings of good, of salvation and of consolation. May the Merciful One bless my husband/my wife. May the Merciful One bless [my father, my teacher,] the master of this home and [my mother, my teacher,] the mistress of this home, they and their home and their offspring and everything that is theirs. Us and all that is ours; as were blessed Avraham, Yitschak and Ya'akov, in everything, from everything, with everything, so too should He bless us, all of us together, with a complete blessing and we shall say, Amen. From above, may they advocate upon them and upon us merit, that should protect us in peace; and may we carry a blessing from the Lord and charity from the God of our salvation; and find grace and good understanding in the eyes of God and man. [On Shabbat, we say: May the Merciful One give us to inherit the day that will be completely Shabbat and rest in everlasting life.] May the Merciful One give us to inherit the day that will be all good. [The day that is all long, the day that the righteous will sit and their crowns will be on their heads and they will enjoy the radiance of the Divine presence and my our share be with them.] May the Merciful One give us merit for the times of the messiah and for life in the world to come. A tower of salvations is our King; may He do kindness with his messiah, with David and his offspring, forever (II Samuel 22:51). The One who makes peace above, may He make peace upon us and upon all of Israel; and say, Amen. Fear the Lord, His holy ones, since there is no lacking for those that fear Him. Young lions may go without and hunger, but those that seek the Lord will not lack any good thing (Psalms 34:10-11). Thank the Lord, since He is good, since His kindness is forever (Psalms 118:1). You open Your hand and satisfy the will of all living things (Psalms 146:16). Blessed is the man that trusts in the Lord and the Lord is his security (Jeremiah 17:7). I was a youth and I have also aged and I have not seen a righteous man forsaken and his offspring seeking bread (Psalms 37:25). The Lord will give courage to His people. The Lord will bless His people with peace (Psalms 29:11).
